| Present and future of China as a travel destination
Asia is becoming more and more popular travel destination - Thailand,
India and Japan showed themselves both perfect resorts and counties
with rich history and numerous cultural attractions. However, different
surveys show that it will be China who soon will play the main role
in Asian tourism market.
The most populated country on Earth, for a long time China was also
one of the most isolated areas. Nowadays the situation is changing
and the flows of tourists moved to the country.
When we say that China is an ancient country with a long history
is just a pale reflection of the truth - China could be named the
most ancient country of the world. 4000 of history are worth respecting.
No matter that China has always been aside from Europe and all its
discoveries, Chinese prove themselves to be very inventive people
- the world should say them thanks for gunpowder, porcelain, paper
and book printing. As China occupies a lot of space it can offer
everything a tourist may desire - from sea resorts to the highest
mountains, from huge metropolises to small villages.
Beijing,
Shanghai
and Hong
Kong are the biggest cities and the most visited destinations.
Chinese capital, Beijing,
is a must see when you plan your trip to China. An ancient capital
still keeps the traces of its long history. In the center of the
city there is a quarter with small houses where people live a life
like many centuries ago. With its numerous attractions like Sky
Temple and Forbidden City, Beijing has a lot to show to the tourists.
Shanghai
is often called Oriental Paris. Long ago there was a fishermen's
village, but now it's in top five of the world's largest cities,
exceeding Beijing. It's the most cosmopolitan city of China mainland
- large metropolis where life differs a lot from the rest of the
country. Shanghai can also boast the highest TV tower in Asia.
China has never been considered a resort destination, but nowadays
Hainan island is gaining a popularity as a perfect place for sea
holidays. Here the sun shines 300 days a year, the nature is unique
and the sea world is rich. The largest city where all the airplanes
land is Sanya.
As for winter activities, Chinese destinations like Harbin
are getting more and more popular too. Local governments invest
millions of dollars in developing skiing resorts and they really
have a success.
Tibet as a destination for a religious and spiritual trips stands
apart from all other routs. The most mysterious and still rather
closed territory (you need a special permission to get there) attracts
a lot of those seeking the truth.
